The problem with mail in ballots.
II've yet to see a reasoned and thoughtful discourse on why, all of a sudden, three months before a presidential election, that the statist left and their minions are breathless and enthralled that we all need to vote by mail. Let's take a look at some examples of mail-in ballot elections.
From the article -
Between 2012 and 2018, 28.3 million mail-in ballots remain unaccounted for, according to data from the federal Election Assistance Commission. The missing ballots amount to nearly one in five of all absentee ballots and ballots mailed to voters residing in states that do elections exclusively by mail.
And suddenly, now in 2020, all is right with the entire process of mail-in ballots?
CBS News in Philadelphia did their trial of vote-by-mail. According to Commissioner Lisa Deeley; After nearly 15,000 votes arrived late in Philadelphia's June primary, Deeley, who helps oversee elections, said voters are right to be wary.
"I can guarantee that I'm gonna get you your ballot, and if I get it back in time, it's gonna be counted," she said. "But I have no way of guaranteeing what happens in the postal service."
The headline pretty well says it all.
From the article - "While many aspects of this primary were a first, from the widespread use of vote by mail to COVID-19 pandemic concerns, there is no excuse for ballots not arriving on time or polling locations to open late and not be adequately staffed," said Aghogho Edevbie, state director of advocacy organization All Voting is Local.
Here in Wisconsin, the vote-by-mail pushed the USPS across the state to the limits of their operational capabilities.
From the article - The U.S. Postal Service is warning states coast to coast that it cannot guarantee all ballots cast by mail for the November election will arrive in time to be counted, even if mailed by state deadlines, raising the possibility that millions of voters could be disenfranchised.
Now with half a dozen examples from just this year and with the proximity of the upcoming Presidential election, I've yet to see or hear any reasoned, rational evidence for the push to all-encompassing vote-by-mail in November.
